.NEt compiler

Hey am new to C# and .Net and i want to start learning it, wel i know a bit of java and ve bought some books on C#, would someone gimme a link of .net compiler that does not expire like visual studio.

visual studio 2005 and it has expired so can U gimme some link to the compiler that is needed to compile and debug .NEt in c#..Is it sufficient to install the .NET Framework v2.0 (x86) or do i need to install .NET Framework Software Development Kit (SDK) completly

Visual Studio 2005 Express is Free.

Or you could try out SharpDevelop which is good open source IDE. You could use it for C# or Visual Basic .NET.

You can download the .NET SDK http://www.microsoft...;displaylang=en

and then use MSBuild to build the files.

Or as previously suggested microsoft has a free IDE called Visual C#/VB/Web Developer Express and ofcourse the opensource IDE SharpDevelop.

and as a third option there are C# bindings for other editors such as Emacs, VI, and Eclipse and then you'd use MSBuild to do the compiling.
