PS has some nice new 3D features with CS5 (may be in CS4 as well, I don't own that version though). Basically I prefer to use Illustrator because I can control things easier with the touchpad or mouse (and while I have a tablet my artistic ability leaves a lot to be desired so I normally like the better accuracy I can get from using pathes - though PS's pen tool is more intuitive than Illustrator's...).

For 3D, I use Maya 2011 and have just recently gotten a look at Mudbox 2011. Awesome stuff.

What? No one does prototypes and sketches anymore?
On a more serious note Photoshop Cs3 and Aptana/Notepad++.

What have you done with blender? It's a pretty cool program.
