Different result on a chart when using Calc VS Excel

Posted 18 March 2011 - 02:40 AM

Dear following programmers,

I am new to this site, but not new to making charts. I love making charts and statistic over everything. :)

A bit of background to this problem (you can scroll pass it if you want):
Recently I underwent a operation called Gastric Bypass. I wanted to make some statistic over the result of the operation and decided to also try to use Calc rather then Excel. I created a simple chart over the development but on the fourth input I got a "#Value" error.

The problem then:
I have added the PDF-version of my charts. One I have used Calc and the other I have used Excel. The formulas is the same. But the result is different. On Calc I get a "#Value" error but not in Excel. I have not have this type of problem before.

My experience:
I have mostly used Excel over the years and I have also take several courses (or perhaps is it called classes?). I have though always wanted to use Open Office instead, both on financial reason as well on principal reason (don't feed Redmond).

Yours Truly

Kudos on the surgery. I hope it helps.

What's the formula you are using for both? Clearly Open Office Calc is not jiving with the format.

Why is this in the VB6 forum? I am going to find a better spot for it.

Thumbs down on the anti MS rhetoric. :)

Four weeks and 9 kilogram down and about 9-10 cm around the weist :)

The formula is C4/E4 and downward. I simplified when I struck problem. When installing Excel, it gives the information that the rows that are a problem seems now to be seen as text rather the numbers. That makes it even confusing because the three first rows reads as numbers but after that it reads as text. But I have format all the cells the same.

Well, I searched on OpenOffice and Calc and some other keyword and I ended mostly in the VB6 forum.

Thank you for pointing it out. I shall learn my manners. :sweatdrop:

Thank you for replaying!
