[AS3] Sending data from Combobox and Radio Button to another frame

Posted 22 March 2011 - 08:29 AM

Hello, I am currently working on a booking form where you can select options from combo boxes and radio buttons then hit the next button which takes you to a frame to view your choices. From there, you can either go back and edit your selections or go to the next frame which thanks you for your order.

My main issue that I am having is sending the data from frame 1 to frame 5.

Here is the current radiobutton code on frame 1

next_Button.addEventListener("click",doClick);

function doClick(evt){

 theMessage = RadioButtonGroup1.selectedData;
 otherMessage = RadioButtonGroup2.selectedData;

 gotoAndStop("edit");

I took this code from a tutorial made in Macromedia Flash 8 (I misread the title) and tried to implement it but I get this error: 1120: Access of undefined property 6 times (for the radio button groups, the text on frame 5 and for 'otherMessage' and 'theMessage'.

When trying to implement the combobox code, I used this

var myVariable = myComboBox.selectedItem.data;

when i use this, i get an error Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

I've tried to google my problem but most of the tutorials that come up are for xml or php which is not what I am trying to do.

Any help or links to tutorials would be welcome!
