All the help on this site is free. There are rules to follow, and a specific way to ask questions, but we're all here to help. Are you having issues with anything specific?

You want to make a 3d FPS? In Java? How long do you suppose you're going to devote to learning? I will warn you, while it's good to aim high, DO NOT think you're going to start off there, or that it's easy, because you'd only be setting yourself up for failures. Now I've written a couple of decent tutorials on beginning Java programming, and they're generally game design oriented. http://www.dreaminco...osmember=114461

I don't mean to discourage you, I just don't want you to think you can just sit down and do this in a week. Here's a quick timelapse of a Java expert busting out a game. Took him 2 days to make it from scratch. To make something like that in like 2 days must take a lot of experience.

You may also want to check out the Java Game Programming Thread, which covers a lot of 2D gaming, as well as concepts. Make sure to hit hard on your math as well. You should have a good handle on vector math, physics, Calculus, and Linear Algebra.

For an idea of what you need to pick up for Java, check out my thread Getting Better at Programming Java.
