Hi Everybody,
I am Selvaraj,SEO Analyst in Chennai,India.I had 1.8 years of experience in SEO,Internet marketing and HTML.I choose to learn Java or PHP for my future career.Which domain i choose Java or PHP.What domain i best for my career and which drive more earning in future.Please kind to give suggestion for my careers.All are welcome...

It seems with your background of HTML, you are more geared towards the internet/webpages of the world. Though I am a Java fan myself, its usefulness on the web (aside from JSP, which is very powerful but rarely used) is dwindling and Java seems more geared towards the enterprise applications world. PHP, on the other hand, is only found on the web and I don't see it going away any time in the near or far future due to its popularity.
So based on your current experience, I say PHP would complement your current suite of skills more than Java could. That is my opinion and I am sure a lot of people will have their own as well.

Neither are that tough to learn, and any good programmer worth his salt can develop in numerous languages.

I don't think it's that popular. It has its place, but I've not really seen it used as much anymore. It use to be POPULAR with a capital POPULAR and every other page was .do. This is not so anymore. I have to disagree with you that it's anything but a Niche now.

Perhaps it's the industry I'm in (financial). There's a lot of Tomcat+JSP. But then again, there's also a lot of other old stuff too (like 20 year old COBOL programs).
