I'm curious to know how people have used their skills to be able to make money in the online world.
I started developing sites when I was given a copy of dreamweaver which I played about with, after a while and some research learning more html i put a site together and soon discovered adsense which i have had some success with.
I then made a site for my dads business and later on after telling his friends, I was asked to develop a couple of websites and got paid which was always good.
I then went to uni made a few more sites and started implementing shops which purchases being managed through other companies although these arent always that succesfull.
I've taught myself flash, css and javascript and i'm currently trying to learn php after stumbling across one of those text based browser games and being impressed at how the person was able to make money from it. I figure if they can do it I can :-)
It's hard but not impossible to make money online as long as your willing to learn and put the hard work in. I'm hoping it all pays off in the future as i despise working for anyone but myself.
I'm curious as to how other people have taugh themselves web development/programming and put their skills to good use. I'm not looking to steal ideas just for some inspiration :-)

Hmm... let's see.
Although I took up IT in college, writing is still, and have always been, my first love. I used to write for our school paper back in college (the 1st one). Now, I'm still a writer (or reseacher) but in a different way. Sort of.

Now to make it relate to this thread.
Well, I just recently started making a few bucks off PayPerPost on the mentioned website. I just do enough to cover hosting costs, but a friend of mine is making good money from PPP, so it can rake in extra cash if you want it to.

Well getting back on topic...
I, at this point, don't use my site for any income, but I am thinking of making a 'linkscheap' type of thing and adding it in aswell as adding some ads and premium membership accounts, which will be month-by-month or year payments and have added features for thier useage.
I just need to get a paypal or something to start playing around with it.
