Dump memory when working with images?

Posted 07 April 2011 - 09:37 AM

Hello,

I have recently been working with images on my JFrame and notice that my IDE has been running unbelievably slow. Do you normally dump any sort of virtual memory when working with images? It just seems like it's continually running something in the background.

I personally don't use IDE's, but when my computer seems to be bogging down, I pull up task manager and see what's eating my CPU. Whenever it's one of my programs, I go through the code and see what I did that needs so much CPU. Usually it's a Thread that doesn't have a sleep call, an infinite loop, a background program that doesn't die, or something of the sort.
