Hi
I'm one of those people that almost never listen to their own countries music, I usually like millions of others listen to the bands from america, europe and england. I have discovered or not discovered, but heard of a few bands that I think should go international. These bands include: Parlatones(may have misspeld), Watershed(already nasional, just had to name them), Louise Carver, Arno Carstens and there are many more. These bands sing in English, they're not xhosa :P
You should chek out the song of the Parlatones: Dragonflies and Astronauts
If any of you understood Afrikaans then I could name many more.
If you feel there's up and coming bands in your country that we should know about the post them here.
Well as they say in Cape Town, Local Is Lekker :D

Oh i havnt really heard the afrikaans rock but your afrikaans music only the afrikaaners can listen to the farmer jams :) no-one else likes it :) sorry to say but its an honest opinion.

I listen to music all the time that I don't understand the lyrics of...like Rammstein...what I do is search the web for a translation.

Afrikaans music isn't farmer jams e.g. Chris Chameleon, Kurt Darren, Die Melktert Kommisie and Snotkop. They certainly don't sing "farmer songs". You're a typical rooi nek :crazy:

rooi nek??? dude i'm just talking about those jams they show on SABC 2 especially when they advertise the summer breaks and stuff...listen the rock music usually sounds cool..i'm saying usualy to stay safe but i haven't yet heard a bad afrikaans rock song... i don't know how explain the other genre...

when i sed understand :) i meant don't know why people listen to it understand :) raamstein are kickass!!!
