You should change the text color so that it doesn't blend with the background. Or vice versa.

ive finally found time today to fix the background. I also made the sidebar and post area float i separate boxes and added a little cleaner drop shadow. I also plan to add a nice wood background underneath :)

Background-image is to big and is taking forever to load , you might want to crop the bg image width wise and use repeat-x , to make bg image small,

im not sure what you would need to do ,but bg is loading to long

Other than that the site look's pretty compact and neat

I also like the div shadows.

Greetings

yes i know im trying to fix the loading issue its on free hosting and the speed of the server isnt too great but it suits my needs. The background is 1920x1200 and i kept it that size so it supports HD resolutions the problem is i cant get it to speed up loading wise and i cannot scale it down and tile it because it is technically not a texture so it would look stupid to say the least.

And thanks for the compact comment thats what im trying to go for :)

it no where close to being finished so feel free to check it out again some time :D

The blog is pretty good. It's simple and not to extreme. I would suggest that yes the background image of the wood is nice after it loaded to slow. Work on making is smaller file size to help speed up the loading process.

The other thing might I suggest is that you try playing around with some new colors for the Sparkz Dev title. It seem a little to hard and with the brown behind it seem kind of hard to see. Add something to it to help it stick out from the background.Maybe drop a back shadow or something. the white stand out nice.

This is pretty good so far keep up the good work. You had a good blog on there with the php mysql book. Thats a good book hopefully you get some time to read it and follow along with it.

You could try converting the background from PNG to JPEG and see if that will significantly decrease the size of the file.

I do like the site but the heading "Sparkz Dev" definitely needs a color change.

Ok i must ask a question of any skilled Wp developers/users out there. how do i make the posts that show on my main page only little summery with a like sample image off to the side relating to the post.

id like to do this so its more organized and not all just a bunch of text on the main page

thanks :)

i started over on the theme i took advice from multiple people and dropped the huge background image im working on something a little more "tile friendly" for the background.

for now im just building the basic layout.
