He looked down the darkened alley, rain pelting him in the face. Was it too soon to attempt a crossing? Tensions were still high what with the trial so fresh in everyone's mind. With the verdict still out, the town had drawn up an imaginary line, one which this software engineer dare not cross. But...but...deep inside, he felt compelled, pulled, driven...why? He had never felt this before. All he knew was that he had to get across town, and quickly. Darting between bent streetlights and torn down signs, he quickly made his way to his destination.
Looking up towards the decrepit building, one would never know it was a church; yet it was this exact reason this hole in the wall establishment was his only hope for salvation. He stepped inside, the light nearly blinded him. "Greetings!", said an elderly, albeit friendly voice, "What brings you here this evening?"
"Redemption, padre.", said he software engineer, stepping towards the voice.
"What are thy sins my son?", asked the priest as he rounded the corner.
Silence fell over the two men. The priest looked right into the man's eyes: "GTFO".
