strange happenings

Posted 16 November 2001 - 12:34 PM

ok, this one is just weirding me out.

I have a very simple tracking script in an asp file: it just takes a few server variables, formats them, and sticks them in a db table.

When I want to track a page, I just include that file. Works fine on all except ONE page. One page, and ASP page, doesn't want to recognize the include file. But it will recognize other include files, and I'm using the same line to include it that I'm using elsewhere. So the problem is not my syntax... any ideas??

Have you remembered to place the include outside the ASP delimiters?

Because the ASP engine will fail to interpret the include command if it's inside said delimiters (<%  %>)

Yeah the include statement is in a portion that is straight HTML. so that's not the problem... I'm stumped. I can't find anything different between working pages and the one that won't work, except location... I'm going to test a bunch of different pages and see if I can find a pattern or something...
