Reputation box rounding only for Mozilla and Webkit

Posted 24 April 2011 - 10:43 PM

Hey.

Testing the latest Opera, and I just noticed that the nice rounding we have on the reputation boxes below the avatars and to up/down vote only works in Mozilla and Webkit based browsers, even though everybody supports that now. (Even IE! (... I know, I was shocked too.))

What version did IE start supporting that in?

Haha, I never noticed that (granted I always use IE, except for when there was a small IE error with the banner ad when it was added - at which point I used chrome for an hour or so... never noticed it though...).

It would be a nice addition though.

Wait. You design websites... with Javascript no less... and you use IE voluntarily? :o

If you know your audience, and your audience uses IE, then you use IE, at least enough to test. If there's enough compatibility issues, you might use it for development too.

Sure, we are pretty much forced to use it to some degree, it's just odd to see a web developer with IE listed as a favorite browser. It's usually quite the opposite.

Although, IE tends to create a lot of extra work, which if you bill by the hour, is not necessarily a bad thing :P

I think it's time to bump this request, seeing as the current release version of Firefox (13) has dropped it's support for the old -moz-border-radius vendor prefix, in favor of the standard border-radius version.

The current DIC styles will not show rounder borders in Firefox anymore.

haha I came here to make a thread for this one too. I noticed that after I upgraded my browser, things felt a bit... "blocky".

Yea thanks, that did it.

Although it doesn't seem to be working everywhere. For instance, in this thread the same CSS block that has the border-radius style for this thread only has the vendor-prefixed versions.

Looking at the markup, the new working version comes from this file:
/forums/public/min/index.php?f=public/style_css/css_8/awards.css,public/style_css/css_8/calendar_select.css,public/style_css/css_8/ipb_editor.css,public/style_css/css_8/ipb_styles.css&v=58

But in the other thread I get the same style, with the vendor-prefixes only, in this file:
/forums/public/min/index.php?f=public/style_css/css_4/awards.css,public/style_css/css_4/calendar_select.css,public/style_css/css_4/ipb_editor.css,public/style_css/css_4/ipb_styles.css&v=58

Only difference is the css_8 vs css_4 bit in the URL. Perhaps a caching issue?

Will dig in to that a bit later today. Thanks for the troubleshooting on it.

Yea, looks like it. The css_4 version of the file has the non vendor prefixed version now too.

Thanks, Chris!
