How to suppress the Outlook Address Book Securtiy Pop up box ?

Posted 19 January 2007 - 02:34 AM

I wrote a code in VB.NET to access Microsoft Outlook Folders. When I want to see the contents of the Address Book it shows a Pop up box
"A program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in Outlook.Do you want to allow this?
If it is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose "No"."
And it will ask for the access for 1 min, 2min, 5 min or 10 min.

I want to suppress this box i.e. I don't want to allow this box to appear every time when I run my program.Anybody have any idea to suppress this box?

NOTE:"I don't want any paid software to suppress this."

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Hi

It is possible to use Extended MAPI to get around this, although it is very complicated and I haven't done it myself.

The current situaton has resulted from the fact htat Outlook had a number of security problems awhile ago, so Microsoft in it's wisdom did a major redesign of the security aspect.

there is an article at the following URl that may help http://www.outlookcode.com/d/sec.htm

Hope this helps

Ross :)
