This time last year, I was struggling to loop the value that the user inputted on a command screen.
Now, thanks to Dream.In.Code, I've managed to impress a well known software developing company with my knowledge gained from here enough to give me a 3 month internship (with the possibility of a full time job after my degree).
It doesn't sound like much, but it's one step closer to my goal and it will put me in a much better position after I finish my degree.
I've tried to give back as much as I can, but I don't think I could ever repay this community enough for all the help you guys have given me

Anyways, I would like to give a big thank you, especially the guys in the C#/C++/XNA/Game programming forums

I'll be doing a months training which will mostly be watching what the pros do and understanding how they handle source control etc.
Then after that, I was told that I'll be having a much more hands on approach.

Use the internet to your advantage!
I signed up to as many student job sites as I could.
About 99% of the internships I found were for graduates, so make sure you let them know that you're a second year as otherwise they will not call you back when they find out.
Make sure you have a website/blog that shows your enthusiasm and skills.

This is basically what I did, and after 4 months I finally found an internship
