[Ubuntu] Fullscreen exclusive mode doesn't work

Posted 08 May 2011 - 09:23 AM

Hello everyone,

I'm trying Java's fullscreen-exclusive-mode with a java.awt.Frame.
In Windows 7 it works finely, but when I run it in Ubuntu 11.04 it doesn't work.

In Ubuntu 11.04 I keep seeing the gnome top bar and when I go with my mouse to this left the "menu" is still going to slice in screen.

I've already searched much on the internet, but none of the given solutions worked for me.

Does someone know how to set a Frame to fullscreen in Ubuntu 11.04?

Thanks,

Sinned

Code:
GraphicsEnvironment ge = GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment();
GraphicsDevice gs = ge.getDefaultScreenDevice();

if(gs.isFullScreenSupported()){
 Frame frame = new Frame();
 frame.setUndecorated(true);
 gs.setFullScreenWindow(frame);
}
