I told Fygar (Nick Davis) this, so I'll share it with you too.
Think of a dream in code, there's lines of code floating in a 3 dimensional space, you're floating through it. Think windows startfield screen saver but with chunks of code in various languages. You can use halftone to and sizing to make the code appear to be floating further back.
I also like iamcenz idea, abstract shapes, but instead of just filling some shapes with 1's and 0's, why not use the 1's and 0's to make those shapes, varying sizes and shades to form lines and shapes, bunched together and spread out.
Nova's tree idea is awesome but I'm not sure it conveys the idea I want.
</dream.in.code> doesn't have to be big at all, it can be tiny in the corner. I want this shirt to be something you want to wear, not some stupid promo with the logo all huge.
here is some various replies i had done in the moderator forum to explain what we were going for at the time we were talking to a designer, see what you guys can come up with.

yeah their won't be a contest to design the shirts as the guy we talked too is a graphic designer. we talked about a grayscale design (to be printed on an orange shirt) that's off-centered (maybe like abdomen level and wrapping around the side), that is very 'organic' but also very 'technological' ('technorganic'?) and incorporating the d.i.c. logo into the design rather than adding it above it. it seemed to click with him so we'll see where it goes.

i totally stole this and its not what i want on the final shirt but i i really wanted to point out how i think we should go for something a little more 'organic' or 'dreamlike' for the shirt, something thats very catchy and people will look at. just throwing some ideas out so we can go for something a little cooler than the normal text logo this time.
