saving/opening an XML file

Posted 29 January 2007 - 02:37 AM

we are required to open/save an XML file. and i heard that there are libraries available on the net. i have searched and have found the tutorials un-user friendly so i can't use any one of them. can anyone help me on how to save or open an xml file in c++? thanks!

What exactly is it you need to do? Opening an XML file is like opening other files, you can use the same functions. Do you have to parse the file? Is that where the trouble occurs?

oh,sorry! i have to parse the file. we were tasked to create a program that acts as a directory. it has an add, edit, view and save function. the first specs was to read and write the information in a text file using csv format. after we finished the program, we are given a new task: to prompt the user whether he/she wants to save it in xml or csv format. and that's it. i have downloaded an xml library but i really don't get how to use it. so i'm making my own class now.
