I am currently seeking a software engineering industrial placement as apart of my degree. I'm just doing some interview preparation. What kind of questions can I expect to be asked during an interview? Thanks in advance

Questions are going to vary from interviewer to interviewer, of course, and will also depend on the position for which you're interviewing. If it's heavily OO, expect Design Pattern questions; if it's something involving algorithms, expect trees/lists/stacks and the like. If it's C/C++, expect some sort of string manipulation question (reverse a string, maybe in place).

Personally, I believe there's a subset of interviewers that get their rocks off by making the person sitting across from them squirm, so be prepared. It must be some sort of ego trip that I don't get.
