PHP - passthru and permissions

Hey,    I'm going bald on this problem.

I am working on a auto-nuke installer for our server.
what it's supposed to do it copy the nuke tarball from our library, unTar it, setup the db and run install.php

The problem I'm having, is that as world, I don't have write permission to the site.

mmmmm         anything I do to fix this would probably open security holes!!!   ARgh

that's ok,  we'll just run it from the shell as a php script, and wait for the people who released our CP to release the developers guide,    this nuke installer would be better built right into the cp anyway
