I ran across this earlier while browsing and thought it was a pretty cool idea. Just imagine being able to develop XNA games for platforms that are not Windows based. MonoGame implements XNA Framework functionality into Mono, which is a framework developed to allow the C# language, which the XNA Framework is built upon, to work with Apple products. The project is still in development, but definitely worth checking out if you're interested in releasing games for the iPod, iPad, or iPhone but do not want to have to use Objective C in order to do so.

Absolutely agree. The project that they are based on is free, but the people who went a step further decided they wanted to try and make money by expanding on the ideas and work of others. I'd much rather see those projects be free as well.
