I'm new, learning PHP coding

Posted 08 June 2011 - 03:07 AM

Hey everyone!

I'm new and learning how to code from scratch, I find it very fasinating and found by searching through a few posts that most of you are very helpful providing i ask the right questions in a suitable way. :)

At the moment I'm working on building a website with a lot of interactive buttons and a login for clients, then also building a administration area for the owner of the site to edit areas or add new photos without me.

If you have any advice that would be great, otherwise speak soon!

Thank you, that is where I'm learning it from, I have noticed and forgive me if im completely wrong but it doesnt explain to you how to create a administration panel for your client to edit different areas of their site without calling you. Or is this just a matter of me coding a new area in my site where the client logs in and can change the different aspects?

Sorry if I'm not explaining it properlly.

These sites only teach you the syntax of a language. It's up to you to implement it yourself by applying what you've learned. I suggest actually reading a PHP book instead of doing the tutorials like this because you will miss out on a lot of basics that tutorials fail to teach.

Some light reading:

Oh, and learn why you should never do this:
$some_variable = $_POST['some_variable'];

or
$some_variable = $_GET['some_variable'];
