I don't think HTML/CSS qualifies anyone as a "developer".

..natural language syntax...

1) develop a dirt easy language that dose everything you could ever want and make it as fast as C with a natural language syntax
2) profit?

ya I'm defiantly going to be a millionaire...

Have you looked at the number of method calls in all the various branches of C lately?

WTF is he talking about? C dosn't even have methods and OO is a feature of many of C's branches, there is no amount of the in the language it's self.

I do know that we cannot continue down a path of increasingly complexity in programming languages

this guy is a writer?

He needs to read this: http://writing.bryan...poor-poor-child

He also needs to understand that his tomato already exists; it's just no supported by iOS. There are a myriad of entry level, novice friendly, languages out there. Scratch and Alice, for example.

I suspect one of the reasons Apple insists on their quirky C dialect is to keep the tourists out. Well, that, and charge fees and requires Apple hardware. Lots of environments pointedly don't cater to the uninitiated; if you can't figure it out, find another place to be.

With an attitude like his, I'm happy that he has learned to stay away from code. He obviously wouldn't last long even with the easiest of languages as he seems to not be interested in overcoming the challenges that being a developer brings.

I love the challenge of programming. It's also nice that it helps keep the part-timers out of the job market. If it was so easy that everyone could do it, the job market would be far too saturated and the people who actually have a passion for it would have a much harder time finding work.

I wanted to make the next big operating system, that's why I started to learn VB.Net (sarcastic laughing.) lol. I kind of failed at that after some Googling.

You guys are underestimating this cat. Sorting in linear time, NP-complete, all of project Euler, anything - he's solved them all in javascript. That's some powerful mental juju. Don't mess.

Or maybe that should read "and can glue enough javascript together to solve almost any problem my feeble little mind can come up with". That would be something different.

I think the writer has a point, I felt the same way when my first, second and third liver transplant patients died. Surgery shouldn't be any more difficult for me than it is for any of those jerk doctors, I don't care how many years of medschool they've done.
And wtf is up with building bridges? There should just be one type that comes in all different sizes, all those structural engineers just keep changing it up so that the average joe can't even attempt to build his own.
Too many industries have these BS shutout policies and I'm sick of it. "You don't have a license to pilot that battleship...you're not qualified to treat that disease....you don't know enough about the space shuttle to pull those wires out etc etc etc."

Pish posh, if some college egghead can do it after years of schooling followed by extensive on-the-job training, then I should be able to master it in a few hours, if not I call BS!

Open-heart surgery is too hard too. Do you have any idea how many times I had to try before I successfully transplanted a heart? 73. Fucking science. How do they work? D:

(on a sidenote, digging human sized holes is much easier)

He's gotten hundreds of comments on that blog post. I don't think a letter is going to make any difference.
