Great...
Honestly, this is the first I've heard about them. I say someone should hack their shit and do some serious damage. And DDoS is pretty lame. It basically ranges from "Look! I'm using the internet!" (LOIC) to "Guy's I'm a hardcore hacker and all I had to do was copy/paste" (their own DDoS + Bot).

Talk about a waste of potential.

my old dorm director in 8th grade got paid to do this. he would do anything from making cracks for software to find security holes in websites. it was actually kind of funny how I found out. me and my best friend tony played a bunch of older but pirated games. Mr. Mac, the dorm director, over heard that we were trying to download CS 1.6. rather than scolding us he gave us a copy he had cracked
Mr. Mac was awesome, my only beef with him is that we was a Mac user(no pun intended). he had both Windows and Linux computers but he mainly used Mac.

My guess is the authorities are waiting for them to cause more damage and then press charges when they have compelling evidence.
OR! *puts on tinfoil hat*
This group is funded by US government in order to cause fear in the internet and make it easier to pass bills restricting access in order to protect us. Of course all of this is lobby from major telecom.
Heard it here first!

Hundreds of skiddies led by 4-5 compotent hackers? Reason to worry a bit.
Thousands of skiddies being led by a few vetran/senior level hackers that are bored? We're screwed.
The thing is by themselves they pose absolutely no problem, but organized and pointed in a direction they can cause problems. Only a few class acts can make software then harness the masses in group attacks for some sense of justice, and the fun part is they won't get caught nearly as easily.
They can bust skiddies all day long, fine, but more will come. Unless you cut off the head of this type of thing it will come back.

Furthermore, if you want to protest for justice, don't yourself violate the law by hacking site. And if you do anyways, why do you expect to be spared by the law?
PS: If you or your friends get caught, hacking some police's site won't help a bit.
*DDoS is imho like little kids throwing lots of paper into the toilet until it's clogged. Just to cause inconvenience to everyone else.

Also, do they have any known affiliation with the goons/ goo swarm, those annoying people who play games against the game mechanics?
