God in SA they just implemented a new smoking law:
you may not smoke within 10metres of an entrance of a building...

I mean seriously thats just a stupid law... usually smokers have the decency not to smoke next to the entrance because they know that there smoke will enter the building...but now they want to argue that the second hand smoke will cause cancer to those walking pass...

i'm waiting for this law to be suggested...
you may not smoke within 10metres of another smoker...since the combined levels of second hand smoke will give both of you cancer...

the next laws that they are planning to enforce are as follows:
1) you may smoke in your house unless you have a house worker in the house.
2) you not smoke in your house if you have kids.
3) if there are passengers in your car you cannot smoke in the car.

i thought the cops had their handful with murders and muggings (basic crime) now they gonna waste their time on this bullcrap

ugh i give up...i'm not gonna follow that 10metre bullcrap...

I Actually dont mind because i detest the smell of smoke..and i hate to walk near a building to smell it when people are smoking.

look you'r only going to smell the smoke for like 5sec at the most when you walk pass the guy its the same thing as smelling a girl who has put 2much goddamn perfume!!! just deal with it and walk on

even though i'll do the special occasional ceegar, i do think smoking in general is disgusting as well as having to smell the soot coming out of someone else's lungs so the indoor ban = +1 even though everyone other than me at work smokes indoors in the mechanics area while working and it doesn't bother me a whole lot. however, it dissipates into the air so quickly if you're outside that people should suck it up and stop bitching to their congressmen/women about issues that really don't matter like this

apart from ciggies being disgusting part your rite...its understandable to not smoke inside a building... not inside MY own car and MY own house that another matter...they should though make smoking offices at work...or a lil' smoking coffee room or sumthing

i live in ny and you havent been able to smoke inside of a building in about 10-12 years, also now you cant smoke right outside of buildings. thats been in affect for a few years now. dont bother me any, i dont smoke.

We are getting a public places smoking ban for England in April this year. It don't bother me as I don't smoke, but it's been in effect in Ireland for a bit over a year now, so my friend from there likes to come to England and sit in restaurants chain smoking because they can't do it at home anymore.

the thing is, the goverment has the obligation to protect us, even if that means protecting us from ourselfs. seatbelts for example, who do you harm without them?Even if doctors prove again and again how harmfull is smoking for smokers as for non-smokers, it is not gonna be banned,because come campaing time, mr. marlboro is gonna cough up a few bucks.
