im far to lazy to play a game which requires me to move more than my fingers. give me a controller and watch the magic happen; make me move and watch an uncoordinated nerd stumble about the room like a spaz.

Granted, but this is an SDK for Windows. Meaning you can use it for things other than just games.

i would have to say that I find it utterly wrong that they limit the sdk to windows 7, but yet they only use Directx 9.0c. Just another ploy that Microsoft uses to suck money out of the user.
Let me clarify what I said. In doing some reading on the SDK, they said that at this time they are only going to support Windows 7, but I have not seen anything that makes it so that it won't work on XP or Vista. Including the fact that they are using Directx 9.0c which is able to run on Windows XP. If anyone can find/ or knows of anything that stops it from being backward compatibal let me know, but until then I'm going to stick with my statement that This is just another ploy to suck money out of the user (forcing people to upgrade from XP and Vista to Windows 7 if they want to develop for the Kinect).

Started a project to extend the SDK:
http://kinectcontrib.codeplex.com/
If you already have the Kinect for Windows SDK beta installed, then you can use new project templates to easily create depth, video and skeleton tracking projects.
