hello everyone
somebody told me i can learn a lot at a quick rate by working on open source projects
but i dont know how to get 1 can anybody help.

Browse around http://sourceforge.com or http://code.google.com or http://github.com or a number of other places. Then just browse around, try things, and if you think that you can contribute, do it!

I personally recommend GitHub. To get start you should check out Help.GitHub.

@brewer github is saying u need to install some git for windows
Can u plz tell a little more about github

I will be very comfortable with c++
so can u suggest some place for that

github takes a little bit of practice to understand, but with some practice it's pretty easy really. here's my github. Just install git bash and follow the tutorials.
