To be clear, I am not creating a porn site. However I do want to allow users to be able to upload adult content (to an extent) if they choose. I typically use Media Temple for hosting, however combing through their TOS they do not allow adult content.

Does anyone know a really good web host that allows adult content? I want to have access to the .htaccess, run cron jobs, etc. However when googling "web hosts that allow adult content" I don't come across anything that is seems very good.

Hostgator seems to allow adult content, as well as the ability to run cron jobs and access the .htaccess. Would this be a viable option? I had a friend who used hostgator and the setup of it looked pretty bad.

Alternatively, would I be better off just hosting it myself?

Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you.

You might want to check the sites I listed here. Granted the post is December 2010, but if they are decent hosts they should be still running.

"Servage" have no problem with Adult Content (It's in their FAQ). I've used them before (for other content) and they are pretty good.
