Java edit jar files

Posted 09 July 2011 - 12:46 PM

How would i go about editing a java program with another java program?
At the moment i am thinking 7-zip, but i am having a hard time believing that the only way to edit jar files is to extract them, edit and then compile again.
Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Yes... may be some editors, like Ultraedit can do it

But I wouldn't edit a program without testing it after the edit session, so you will have to extract it to compile it anyway :)

Hmm, in that case, what would the best way to "mod" a program? Meaning i would like to install another .class file or a new .class file inside the jar file
