I had mysql server 5.5.9 and used SqlYog to deal with it
I did C# applications that has a mysql databases

now I'm learning PHP so I installed WAMP
but WAMP installs already the mysql server 5.5.8
so I uninstalled the 5.5.9 version

I edited the 'my.ini' file and added a password for the root user of the server
I opened sqlyog to explore the databases but I could login as the root without using any password
that's the first problem
the second is, when I try to use the mysql console from WAMP it can't connect to the mysql server
another problem is
Visual Studio and sqlyog can connect to the mysql server without using a password
mysql console and phpmyadmin cannot connect to the mysql server

so what can I do?
