In the U.K. vat is 17.5% and income tax is about 20% I think.

neither did mine.

That is for the retirement pension plan right? I have 13% of my salrary going into a private retirement account because I dont believe that Social Security will pay anything after they have been taking it out of my pay every check.

Sort of. It covers pension contributions and unemployment, well it's supposed to but the way things are going I doubt I'll be getting a pension.

A month since I posted this topic... and I'm finally done. Refunds from state and federal. I hope the government used my interest free loan for something good.

Yeah, I actually just got the last of my forms, only to find out that I owe the government like 150 dollars, and the state 50 dollars. It is rediculous, I didn't even make that much money this year.
