I'm currently developing a chat client written in Java that is a lot like AIM, I'm pretty far in the development but I would like to work with someone else on the rest of it (so I have experience programming with others). Let me know if you're interested in helping and I'll give you access to the source code. Right now I have two way communication working but it needs some tweaks and bug fixing.

Sorry can't help, but just interested - What protocol are you using?
Have you written your own?

No I mean, the actual messages that you're sending between client/server.

Ahh ok, I thought you might have meant that ha. I'm writing my own protocol to send and receive messages, start a connection, end a connection, etc. It's actually quite interesting and fun working on a protocol yourself.
