Pointing a domain name to an Australian Bigpond static IP

Posted 31 July 2011 - 01:58 PM

Good mornin all,

Just wondering before I go to school. We purchased a static IP from Bigpond, our ISP and we would like to know how to point our domain name http://www.shadowkingdoms.com to our static IP and host off our own server. I am unsure of how to accomplish this. I run all my current server/domains through MJMWebTech.

We are running the latest version of Wamp (Windows not linux) and don't know how to go about doing this.

Thanks,

You need to forward port 80 requests from your router to the internal ip address of your server.

Who is your domain provider ? You will need to update the records for the domain to point them to your IP address, also you will need to port forward, it can be done as i was previously with BP - i now am with internode and also have a static ip for the purpose of running a home server
