need help mobile website needs to be able to upload photos from iphone

Posted 02 August 2011 - 12:04 PM

I have a site where members can make post, they usually include a photo in the post.

I've formated my site and redirected to mobile safari, and my site works great on the newest version of Android. I can access photos to upload from the gallery with no problem, but my buddy that has an iphone say's this feature isn't working for him.

Is their technique to get this to work with out designing a full IOS app, I'm going to work on one eventually, but I don't own a Mac and can't afford one right now so I can't run the SDK.

Does IOS use a different version of mobile safari?

I've looked in here but am having trouble finding anything on file or photo uploads from the device.

It seems the ipad and iphone are one of the most crippling devices no flash, no photo uploads. I understand flash is on it's way out soon they feel, and I suppose the file access is a security feature, but you would think their would be a happy medium with all the other mobile devices supporting these features.
