I was becoming increasingly annoyed with some of the tutorial sites interpretations of teaching HTML so I decided to start up my own tutorial series on this matter.

One thing in the tutorial that I find kind of odd: Why do you use a XHTML doctype?

I mean, there is no practical difference in using the XHTML doctypes over the HTML doctypes. Only when you set the proper XHTML content-type, and only in non-IE browsers, is XHTML even properly parsed. Otherwise browsers just revert back to parsing it as normal HTML. Why confuse the issue? (This is a HTML tutorial, after all )

Also, your example markup is invalid XHTML. The meta tag isn't closed (which is a must in proper XHTML), and you have a typo in the anchor tag.
