Mostly I use Firefox. Occasionally I use IE as there are a few things that I do over the web that don't seem to like Firefox.

Basically just institutions where the members are TOLD what browsers they will be using because policy is set by the IT department, and they have little choice of which browser is installed on computers they don't own.

So... everyone... other than the home users and IT tech community. Which is the people here that you polled.

The results won't be skewed at all... Nawwwwww....

Actually most of the schools and institutions around here have IE, Firefox, and Chrome installed and they just tell you to use whichever one you prefer.

I plan on including more later on but to get everything started I'm going to let students at institutions try the product out first.

I've used Firefox for several years but I've been using Chrome for the last year and I do prefer it slightly more. Though I'm using Firefox at work so I still use both. I use Window 7 OS at home and Windows Xp at work.

i like chrome a lot. i used firefox for a few years, but i prefer the 'feel' of chrome. i tried opera for a week and it seems there were a lot of compatibility issues with certain sites.

Chrome. I use Firefox and IE every once and a while for sites that do not support Chrome.

Still amazingly surprised that, on a development forum, people aren't using Opera... Truly amazes me :D

Schools tend to have a firefox or chrome installed on their computers and an IE. Depending on where you go, they may just have IE. What you'll find though is that businesses are going to be using IE and if you're lucky, they'll have 7. If it's a tech firm, they'll probably have more, but general business? IE. Why? Because they have old stuff and it was made for IE then and rather than remaking, IE it is. Additionally, there are a couple of things that are easier to do using IE (group policies, web site blocking, etc). And by easier, I mean it's cheaper than a DNS solution that blocks web names and ips.

But anyways, still waiting to find a business that isn't primarily ie and some awful backwoods lower version to develop for.

Also, for web developers or designers, LunaScape is like the best thing since toasted bread. It can instantly switch between any current rendering engine on the fly and reload the page in that engine. It's awesome.

Lunascape

I use google Chrome and its the best browser, when i first downloaded it, my internet was running at a lighting speed, i even checked my speed ip-details and it was normal too,i used firefox which chocked my browsing capabilities .
But the only one advantage with firefox is that it has more add ons, which makes things much easier..

My default browser is Chrome, and has been for quite some time now, but I regularly use Firefox, Internet Explorer (6, 7, 8 & 9), Opera and Safari for testing for browser cross-compatibility at work. Internet Explorer is such a fucking pain! :hammer:

I use Lynx a fair bit surprisingly. I often work on very bad internet connections and I find it still manages to load things about the same speed normal browsers do on a good connection.

But, for normal use, I use Firefox and have done for years. I occasionally use Chrome when Firefox isn't playing nicely though, or on slower machines.

I was a Chrome loyalist until I found out there was a bug in parsing XML using Ajax/JQuery/Javascript that has not yet been fixed. My loyalty faltered a bit, but not enough to give my vote to the others. :)

That and Chrome still isn't loading alt, alternate text, attributes for images that fail to load correctly! :glare:

Don't believe me? Just try this:

<img src="" alt="This text will not display in Google Chrome!" />

I noticed that a while ago when I was learning PHP and HTML and didn't know whether itwas the browser or just me making a mistake in my code
