Also "pulls a Mubarak" is something that just sounds flat out stupid. Transit authority disabled their wifi - oh noez!

I swear if I hear some hipster whining outside of Starbucks because the severe thunderstorm "pulled a Mubarak" and caused power outages affecting da free wi-fiz I will start pistol whipping people.

PS: some minor mention of Anonymous defacing BART sites.

PPS: Oh and let's not forget the reason for the protest (initially) was to get all pissy about BART authorities shooting Charles Hill and Oscar Grant.

Cell phone service is NOT a constitutional right.
You loose it every time you get on a plane or go through a tunnel.

The idea of jamming cell phones for all forms of mass transit has come up before for security reasons. You can't trigger a cell-phone detonated bomb if the detonator can't get service. Gangs/terrorists can't use 'burner phones' for private movement coordination and thus stand out on high power walkie talkies.

Modi, you bring up a list of good talking points. My my main interest is the idea that government organizations would consider cutting off people's ability to communicate with each other in the face of protest. That's terrorist stuff imo, and plenty worth talking about. I didn't want to elaborate too much because I was worried ppl would troll me for taking too much of a side on the issue.

What do you think when a government authority sets up cell phone repeaters to allow people to communicate, and then suddenly disables this technology? It wasn't just wifi, it's cellphone activity that was disabled too. Your stance is that it's OK to do this, and if you complain you're a hipster? Is this cool behavior you would desire from a forum leader on a tech website?

Now that you mention it, the definition is ambiguous. I read it as though it was defining an "action" instead of an act. Either way, a government organization is an actual thing, where government is the adjective and organization is the noun. So what point is the guy trying to make with his definition anyway?
