What's your favourite IDE and why

Posted 17 August 2011 - 04:33 AM

What is your favourite IDE and why, what makes it good, what features do you like about it? I personally use Netbeans for Php because its free and a good development tool :) I also use Visual Studio for all my desktop needs.

Visual Studio is my favourite hands down, just for everything that it supports, Intellisense (code completion in other IDEs is *not* the same) and sooo much more.

For PHP, I use PHPStorm. Did try VSPHP but it just didn't do everything I needed it to do at the time, though I think it may have been improved now. PHPStorm's made by the same people behind Resharper, IntelliJ etc, so you know it's a great IDE :D

Not Army, Air Force. And I'm not in it, just civilian worker. And I'm fine.

I used Visual Studio for C++. I didn't like it as much as Netbeans, but we had to use it for class. I think we have to use Bloodshed or something this quarter. :(

VS2010 is my favorite. It's fantastic in every sense. Rarely does it let me down.

When I code in Ruby I use Geany because it's also a pretty kick ass lightweight editor.

Army / Air Force / Navy - All the same. Still shoot stuff regardless of how they shoot it.

I am very very very pleased that you are okay.

VS2010 is awesome for sure, even though this thread has existed in numerous iterations throughout the years.

Off topic: Sergio, where did you get that signature? That is awesome and I can already develop a story line for the game that those animations should go with. Four Horsemen anyone?

Idk, it's a little on the large side (*snicker* that's what she said) and slightly obnoxious.

LOL! No, that's not right. The Air Force panel should be a pic of a couple of Colonels playing golf. The Army says "Hooah!", the Marines say "Hoorah!", but what does the Air Force say? "FORE!"
