So I get this email that says I was invited to a project by an employer. I've never met this employer and I don't know who he is. Unfortunately, the project is a little too much for me so I can't bid on it. I've completed two jobs so far and both have mentioned "will recommend" and "will contact for future projects", could this be related? I'm ranked 95% higher than other workers but that 5% is still a rather large amount of workers.
tl;dr invited to project by random guy, why?

Spam? Referral maybe? If you aren't interested, maybe politely decline or just delete the email.

I know this is a couple weeks old but if you're using a Freelance site thats normal. Employers have the ability on just about every site to view providers who match the skill set and category their looking for. It's not spam, the buyer is wanting to see what you could bring to the table and if you'd be the provider he goes for based on your bid.
