I thought the extra time and the prize might bring out a few more competitors. I can't wait to see what you all can come up with.

POPULAR

Just as an added bonus...

I have talked it over with SixOfEleven and I am willing to do a write up and review of the winner (possibly expanding to the top 3, not sure yet) over at Indie Game Magazine in order to push a little more publicity to the winner in case they decide to make millions off of their creation. Details to be hammered out at a later date of course.

Awesome, though I don't expect my entry to get that high up the rankings with so many participants. Who am I kidding I'll do great!

That's awesome, Adkins! This might also help drive some more traffic to Dream In Code. This challenge is really starting to heat up. I can't wait to see what people are able to come up with.

I think it is worth mentioning that I can test PC games and I can install the WP7 SDK so I can test out those as well, but I am not sure how to go about testing the XBoX ones....my XBox bit the big one 3 days ago (R.I.P.). Any suggested would be appreciated (if it comes up)!

Don't worry, if it runs on Xbox it will run on pc, I'm sure everyone will be putting pc controls in anyway considering the genre.

Can I use only C#?
Or C# with WPF?

And if anybody will use OpenGL instead of XNA wich way you can detect whether he cheats?

Why do people insist on not reading the title of the thread?

It's an XNA challenge.
Not core C#.
Not WPF.
Not open gl.
XNA.

All they see is the money, (although $25 isn't enough to get too excited about if you're no longer a child) it's a blind ambition thing.

Thanks. But which way you will detect cheaters?
Besides, I read all the topic. There wasn't clear answer on what I was asking before my first post here.

Detect cheaters?

It's not hard to tell whether a game's XNA or OpenGL, and for it to be non .NET at all, well that's also simple.

Why does this matter so much - It's an XNA contest and nothing more :P

It sounds to me like someone wants to enter this challenge and "cheat" by using something other than XNA because they want a shot at the 25 bucks. Anyone that had pure intentions for competing in this challenge would just accept the rules and not worry about how they are going to get around them.

My guess is that some people have already made a very polished Tower Defence game in the language\API of their choice, and just want to submit that so that they can bag $25 for no work.

Everybody completely mistakes :smile2: . I just can't use XNA (using netbook) and tried to catch any possibility to compete in this challenge. Keep it simple, guys.
