I'm sorry for my lack of knowledge but I'm just a beginner. How do I run my cointoss.py program in the command prompt? The cointoss.py is located on my desktop. Could someone give me step by step instructions on how to do this please? I'm running Windows Vista.
Thanks, Jason

Just go in the terminal/command prompt and type:
python myfile.py
Make sure the file is in your current directory when running this command!

You can't quit every time you have a problem - we all have programming problems, even the experts have days when they are stuck on the most simple things. If we all gave up programming when we had a problem, there wouldn't be half the people that are on the forum today, it's a part of programming - getting a problem and working out a solution.
Now, explain step by step what you are doing and what feedback the computer gives you - and then someone can try and help again. Ok?

All the "Solutions" people give me don't work!
I'm trying to run a simple program I interpreted. Whenever I try to run it in the python shell, I get "Invalid syntax" as feedback. Whenever I try to run it in the CMD it just doesn't work. Nothing anyone is telling me is working! I've tried everything, I cant do it.

To be fair, you haven't given us much to work with. Remember that we are programmers and rely on error messages and diagnostics to establish what is wrong with something. Saying "it didn't work" isn't helping us help you. Tell us what HAPPENED when you tried.
