fist time error message was given. couldnt copy tar file to /opt
no permision
I again try then, commands start from lampp/ word begings to execute.

then it stops at
lampp/var/mysql/performance_schema/setup_timers.frm
lampp/var/mysql/performance_schema/threads.frm
lampp/var/perl/
lampp/var/perl/cpan/
lampp/var/perl/cpanplus/
lampp/var/proftpd.delay
lampp/RELEASENOTES

this is something once, I did but now again I am doing...

again I came to this part


root@menuka-OEM:/home/menuka# /opt/lampp/lampp start
Starting XAMPP for Linux 1.7.4...
XAMPP: Starting Apache with SSL (and PHP5)...
XAMPP: Starting MySQL...
XAMPP: Starting ProFTPD...
XAMPP for Linux started.

but when I restart the machine couldnt go back to xampp
Is there any option to set shortcuts to programmes??

thanks for your support.
when I restart the machine again I got the same problem.

this time I logged as root
and done this
/opt/lampp/lampp start
this command started the xampp and go to localhost

NOw I have to restart xampp mannually, all the time I restart the machine.

Do u know how to make a shortcut for xampp or
auto restart when the machine is started

Rebooting is a troubleshooting trick for Windows. Any Linux/Unix machine is going to come back up in the same state that it went down.

Check this for adding to the start list of Ubuntu.

Google. But I know I shouldn't say that. So make sure Apache is running, sometimes a terminal command is needed.

On LAMPP(XAMPP) control panel make sure Apache is ticked, and installed then click run.

Localhost can be 127.0.0.1 or localhost. There is others, but those are the main ones.

Did you install Apache when you were installing LAMPP/XAMPP?
