help on my new design

Posted 06 September 2011 - 06:07 PM

Hello again,

I am in need of the communities opinions on my latestest creation. the url is testlab . Currently, I haven't decided on a logo or a company name even and have some javascript left to do. The "linked in" text will be replaced by the company name in similar style. Other changes as well but figured I could use some perspective to keep in mind. thanks

Oh and I will extract all css into one file so no need to mention that, just not 100% complete and its easier this way till I'm done.

It looks nice, though in the services part the services are not particularly distinguishable from each other it looks like one single paragraphs to me. Plus you could use another font.

Yeah I was going to find a bullet image for the lists. Alot of the content still has to be done just was deciding if I liked the layout. Thanks

**added an icon for the lists but not sure it'll be the one that stays

Essentially, I like it.

The only thing that bother's me is this image: (on the page - at least in my browser, it looks "stretched")

Other than that, I really like it. It's clean... not a lot of clutter.

Go, you! :)

Yeah, that's because the image is being stretched to fit the div. I also noticed a problem when resizing. Normal:

Resized:

thanks, yeah that image was quickly grabbed off of google images. I plan on changing that along with actually finishing the site soon. Just been distracted learning PhoneGap.

Call me a bad developer but I'm not worried what the site looks like if the user decides to adjust the zoom on their browser other then default. Honestly, haven't seen any topics about compensating for different zoom levels.

I tend to not give a shit about the zoom levels, but that's just me ^_^. I should warn you that taking images from Google Images isn't the best idea without the consent of the author. On my site I use social icons, in my footer I credit the man by linking to his Twitter account.

Come to think of it, grooveshark.com tells you how and if you need to reset zoom to view correctly. Thats flash tho. maybe theres a javascript solution not sure
