Fast search engine

Posted 14 September 2011 - 12:12 PM

Hello everyone,

I'm going to develop a kind of search engine. It has to be fast and support as many users as possible. The webpage will be quite simple though: only a text entry and some buttons.

I will probably use C++ for retrieving and processing the words, but I don't know what I better use for the communication between the client and the server. CppCMS?

Since the webpage will contain only one user interaction, do you think it's still relevant to use AJAX so that only a subpart is refreshed?

Thanks a lot!

if you only want to search your website, it depends on how you store your content, if you want to search the internet, use an already existing service (google, yahoo and the like)

Actually, the requirements are the same as for a search engine, but it is not a search engine. I cannot use a tool that already exists.

As for the content storing, I'll use data structures such as radix trees and hash tables loaded in the RAM.
