Dream Recorder

Scientific American:Breakthrough Could Enable Others to Watch Your Dreams and Memories [Video]

Cool technology but what the potential legal and ethical issues. (If the resolution was a lot clearer)
- Witness to a Crime. (Could a court order you take/record one.)
- Are your memories ()personal. Your psyche is sacred.
- Eves-tapping (brainwaves are a EF-Transimission, can they be intercepted.
- Manipulation (Men in Black Neuralizer)

- How do the memory and dreams of people with Mental Instabilities differ?

Your thoughts.

Some things in life are personal, dreams and memories should stay that way.

I'm all for technology moving forward but I do think that is crossing a line.

Seems like everyone's talking about this - my friend sent me a similar link.

Sadly, what's next? If we can extract this information from a brain - what's to stop us from putting something in there?

I've always been a skeptic of the possibility of machines interpreting brain waves to produce meaningful complex data (i.e. images), but this is certainly convincing me that I was wrong to be so dismissive of the idea. It shows that we clearly have a solid understanding of the inner working of our brains (at some level), but I'm not sure how much further this can go. I hope they take it as far as possible.

Our brains are amazing things, we should do all we can to understand ourselves.

Since our brains work via electromagnetic signals, it can and has been done. However, adding complicated data like pictures or memories, I think, is far beyond our understanding at this time. What do I know though? I'm not a neurologist, and links posted here have already proven to me that neurology is clearly making huge advances.

I don't think it is too far, unless I committed I the crime, then gtfo my brain.

Whats the difference between seeing your dreams and a polygraph test? Either way you are giving away information that you do not want others to know.

I've had one memorable lucid dream in my life, I was robbing a bank and I was conscious of the fact that it was a dream. Not sure why it had to be something so questionable though...

I'd be okay with it, but only if I where the only one allowed to see them. I'd love to see what I dream about on nights that I forget them as soon as I wake up.

As being able to see what was so erotic, to make you have a wet dream. I ain't talking about boating holidays or where you drown.

I would love to have that machine hooked up to me while lucid dreaming. Imagine the fun that you could have.

I can actually see this being incorporated into social networks in about 200 years time.

Upload your photos
Upload your videos
upload your dreams

"Everyone check this mental dream i had last night!! 4 people like this"

Perhaps you haven't watched Inception?

Anyway there was a point in my life that most of my dreams were lucid. This stuff shouldn't be used though that would be like invasion of privacy or something.

Suffice to say some shit should stay in your head. I can't be the only one to dream up wierd things from time to time. Scary things that should stay deep insied that dark place, locked away.

I don't want to see see my nightmares. Ever. There's a reason why we sometimes forget dreams.
