Screen Saver

Posted 29 September 2011 - 06:24 PM

Any suggestions on how one would take a group of say 5-6 photos and compile them into one "screen saver"? This "screen saver" has to be able to be distributed to several different stores. I am working on this for a friend of mine and his buisness. They asked me to look into it and since I have no knowledge on where to begin with this I figured I would see if anyone here could offer some advice or point me in the right direction. Thanks ahead of time.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

I'm not a graphics type of guy. I will say that but by platform you mean OS? If so then just Windows OS's is what they run in there shops.

I have tried using Google to search and all I get is spam about programs that will do the job for me. I need to know what I can do to make a distributional and easy installation screen saver.

From what the internet tells me, you could just put them in a single folder and let Windows do its thing.

Although a nice thought this answer is not what I need. I need to be able to send a shop a file and they can select it and set it as there screen saver. It would be a pain to send them a bunch of pictures and tell them to put it in a file and do this and that. And modi any OS ranging from XP to 7. Preferably and mainly 7.

I just got to the bottom of that page. I am going to check into the InstantStorm.

With this one, all you need is a Powerpoint file and they just have to set it:

Stupid question but is there a way to get PowerPoint without paying for it?

Never mind I am not using XP and neither are the pc's at the home shop.

You only need to create the powerpoint file then the Windows thing will do the rest. Why not create it somewhere then just flash drive it? By the way, the Picasa option looks nice.

I am going to go the Flash way. The Picasa option is nice if it is your own computer and not dealing with people and having to tell them to download this and click that, change this etc....

Just in case anyone comes along and reads this at a later date. I have a process down to do this but it requires two separate programs. Anyone who needs the information can contact me and I will post a short tutorial once I get it written down. Thanks guys.
