Runtime Error 429 with DirectX and Win7

Posted 03 October 2011 - 07:10 AM

i am not sure, but i had several versions of my program. I am using the ones with DirectX8 coded in it.

When I tried Enumerating devices with the Dx8, it wont do. Two PCs, Windows7 Directx11, had the same Prob. On mine, XP DirectX9, is fine..

I am about to enlist the Software Requirements of my Game and i currently wrote
WindowsXP or above
DirectX8 or above

Should i limit The DirectX to 8? Are there issues that i should know about? Thanks guys.. :)

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

For starters you're using an outdated DirectX. DirectX9 has been out for years, and there's really no reason that I can think of to use an older version instead of 9.
