...wow.
Posted 17 October 2011 - 07:40 AM
In China, a 3 year old girl was run over... then the driver buggered off and left her on the side of the road while people drove & walked by and did nothing. A van comes along later and drives over her, as if she's just some roadkill. Apparently she's still alive, but the highest hope is that she'll remain in a vegetative state as she's been declared braindead.
Now, I may be one of the more emotionally detached people around, but even I find this ridiculous. How could people ignore the fact that there's a kid dying on the side of the road?
CCTV footage... if you have a weak stomach, you may not want to watch.

And people often wonder why I have such a low opinion of the average human. Every day this species finds new ways to make me ashamed to be a part of it.

But....how? How could the driver have not seen her? Why didn't they stop to help? This makes absolutely no sense to me :< But I'm with hookiethe1, just watching saddens me to think we're the same species. Daaaayaaaaaam

I can't figure this out either, he doesn't even seem to slow down. They caught him and he admitted to it, but he said he'd have to pay 20,000 yen if she died, but it could be hundreds of thousands if she needed surgery, which I suppose is his reasoning for the double tap. It's all about the money.

Man, wow, that's sad.
As people drive you can notice that they actually take a look in her direction. They don't even respond to it. I mean, I live in what's considered to be one of the worst/most dangerous city in the U.S. and I haven't seen anything like that. That, in my opinion, is worse than the video of the NYPD officer running over a man during a protest.
Can mankind stoop any lower?

Everybody who drove past that girl should be found and executed. Gruesomely.

The driver of the Van that initially hit her was looking at the display / shelving on the left hand side.
Driving over here head with front wheels, and over the upper chest / neck with rear.
The second van drives over her legs braking them, lower thigh just above the knees.
So sad and madding at the lack of respect of human life, especially of one so young.
Some people are so self centred that they couldn't give a f**k about anyone else.
This ain't going to be my problem, let some else deal with it. Move on

I just heard about this on the radio as I was coming back to the office.
They were talking about how it could be linked to fears that they themselves would be prosecuted due to precedence marked in a previous case involving an elderly man who was hurt and the guy who assisted ended up getting charged. I personally can't comprehend such claims...

Wow, awful, that poor kid.
So strange that people are all walking by and not doing anything. I can't believe that it would just be out of callousness, it doesn't make any sense. The fear of being prosecuted sounds like the most plausible to me. It's a shame they live in a place where the reaction to seeing a badly hurt child is to be afraid to help. Also, where the fuck were this kids parents? 3 is a bit young to be wandering around by oneself is it not?

Since I am at work I can't view the video but my question is, if the person had time to video tape it than why didn't they go help?

It was a security camera, so there was no camera man.
It's sickening that those people just straight up walked by without even a second glance.

people are sick; they never cease to disgust me. the bystander effect doesn't apply here. if you see a human...a 3 YEAR OLD HUMAN, in that state you don't pay attention to the crowd, you pay attention to the kid!
