hi,
i have installed 8GB DDR3 RAM in my server and i have installed windows server 2008 R2, when i view the total memory it shows 4GB? how can i check the 8GB installed memory on my server? thanks in advance.

I would be willing to bet you have the 32bit version. You would need the 64bit version of the Operating System to use anything over 4gb.

Can you boot the machine into BIOS, & see how much memory that the system is reporting?

It's an addressing issue, unless you have the RAM incorrectly configured. I'd be far more willing to bet on the 32 bit part. Are you dead sure it's not?
