Background Size

Posted 18 March 2007 - 07:42 AM

Hey, I'm building my own site, but the problem is, is that i want to use a certain background, but i need to know the size for the background. I had a too small one, and when i imported it, it was showing up twice.
Can someone tell me what the normal size of a background is, without it will display itself more then once?

the background for a website goes on for infinity both right and down.

different resolutions will see that image a different # of times.
me on a 1600x1200 would see it alot,
an 800x600 might just see it the once.

also, if you have a bunch of content in either one of those directions it will cause it to repeat.

if you want a static background image your gonna have to use some css,
search google and you will find multiple scripts that will let you do that.

Either use css like previously suggested, or limit the page size using div tags.
